Arbe

Arbe rises before the sun has fully touched the tundra. While the camp still sleeps, she lights the smudge fire to keep the mosquitoes at bay, prepares the morning coffee, and begins the day's work. Not because anyone asked her to, but because that is how it has always been done.

Arbe is a member of the Amethyst Council and the Keeper of Tradition. Devoted to the old ways, she preserves the customs that bind one generation to the next. She proudly wears her Sámi gákti when others choose simpler clothes, believing that traditions are meant to be lived, not simply remembered. Every task, every meal, and every journey carries the wisdom of those who came before.

As Mette settles into camp, Arbe patiently teaches her the rhythm of reindeer life. Fires are lit before dawn. Coffee is shared before the day's work begins. The herd is tended with the same care it has known for centuries. When Mette wonders why things are done a certain way, Arbe simply smiles. "Because it is the way of a herder."

Tradition, Arbe believes, is not the enemy of change. It is the foundation that allows each generation to know who they are before deciding where they will go. After more than six hundred migrations, some paths have earned the right to remain.

If an old tradition still brings people together...
If yesterday's wisdom guides tomorrow's journey...
If the past is carried forward with pride instead of forgotten...

That will be Arbe.
