Eira

Eira notices what others need long before they ask for it. A loose scarf is gently retied. A weary traveler is offered a warm meal. A frightened reindeer is given the space to find its courage. She believes the smallest acts of care are often the ones remembered the longest.

Eira is a member of the Amethyst Council and the Keeper of Tending. Though she is not the oldest of the Council, she is its elder, quietly caring for each of its members just as faithfully as she tends the reindeer herd. Watching over, guiding, protecting, and nurturing come as naturally to her as breathing. To Eira, every life placed in her care is family.

When Mette first arrives in camp, Eira gently introduces her to the herd. She teaches that although the reindeer roam freely across the tundra, they are never simply animals to be counted or managed. They are loved, respected, and cared for as members of the family. Trust, she reminds Mette, begins with how we choose to care for another living soul.

When Mette quietly insists that nisser are only stories, Eira listens with gentle curiosity rather than offense. She asks her questions as though hearing such an idea for the very first time. After all, to Eira, the existence of nisser is no more remarkable than the return of spring or the falling of winter snow. Some truths simply are.

If care is given without expecting praise...
If love protects without trying to possess...
If family is chosen through kindness as much as blood...

That will be Eira.
