Kjenna

Kjenna has a habit of noticing things before anyone else does.

A knot tied correctly. A harbor marker remembered at the right moment. A lesson someone insists they have forgotten despite using it perfectly.

Kjenna rarely argues. She simply smiles and points. "There," she says. "You remembered."

Kjenna is a member of the Sapphire Council and the Keeper of Recognition. Along with her twin sister Sans, she journeyed to Lofoten from Trøndelag after dreaming of the Sapphire Light.

According to Kjenna, this is not the first time such a thing has happened. She cannot prove it. She simply recognizes the feeling.

Among the Sapphire Council, Kjenna is perhaps Rampen's greatest defender. While Glemme remains convinced the puffin is a thief, Kjenna insists he is misunderstood. Or adorable. Possibly both. In fact, she officially declared Rampen the mascot of Stifinner, a decision that pleased Rampen enormously and confused nearly everyone else.

Recognition, Kjenna believes, is not merely seeing. It is understanding what is already there.

Many travelers spend their time searching for what they lack. They search for answers, skills, courage, and wisdom, convinced they must find them somewhere beyond the horizon.

Kjenna knows that often the opposite is true. Sometimes the answer has already been learned. Sometimes the courage is already present. Sometimes the lesson simply needs to be recognized.

Among the Sapphire Council, Kjenna teaches Finn to trust what he remembers. Finn often doubts himself, assuming every success is luck and every skill incomplete. He forgets how much he has already learned.

Kjenna notices immediately. The knot tied correctly. The course plotted accurately. The harbor entered safely. Again and again, she points toward the evidence. Not to praise him. To help him see it.

When the Sapphire Light grows clouded by uncertainty, Kjenna reminds others that experience is not lost simply because confidence has wandered away. The knowledge remains. The lessons remain.

Sometimes they are only waiting to be recognized.

If someone discovers they knew the answer all along...

If a traveler finally sees how far they have already come...

If quiet knowledge becomes confidence once more...

That will be Kjenna.
