Lyd

Lyd is comfortable with silence. While others fill the quiet with conversation, he listens for what the quiet is trying to say. He believes every living thing has a voice, even if it never speaks a single word.

Lyd is a member of the Amethyst Council and the Keeper of Listening. Quiet and observant, he understands that the heart often hears what the ears cannot. To Lyd, listening is more than hearing words. It is noticing the whisper of the wind across the tundra, the murmur of flowing water, the flick of a reindeer's ear, or the gentle look in its eyes. Every sound—and every silence—has something to teach those who are willing to be still.

Although he does not speak the language of reindeer, Lyd understands them deeply. He knows fear has a rhythm, curiosity has a pause, and trust often arrives long before it is ever spoken.

Time spent listening, he believes, is never time wasted.

Listening, Lyd says, is not waiting for your turn to speak. It is opening your heart wide enough to hear another's. The world is always speaking. Most simply forget to be quiet long enough to listen.
