Pute

Pute has never been in a hurry. He simply puts one oversized boot in front of the other and keeps going. If he stumbles, he dusts himself off. If his arms are full, he makes another trip. If the day grows long, he smiles and takes one more step. To Pute, there has never been another way.

Pute is a member of the Amethyst Council and the Keeper of Endurance. Warm-hearted and unwavering, he quietly proves that perseverance is often the gentlest kind of strength. Though Mette lovingly declares that he looks like "a marshmallow with feet," those who know him understand that beneath his soft scarf and fluffy hat beats one of the strongest hearts on the tundra.

Nothing seems to trouble Pute for very long. A spilled bucket of water simply means another walk to the stream. A heavy bundle is carried one piece at a time. A difficult day is met the same way as an easy one—with quiet determination and a cheerful smile. When someone entrusts Pute with a task, he never worries about how long it will take or how difficult it might become. He simply sees it through.

Unlike many of his friends, Pute rarely spends time wondering what tomorrow might bring. He lives one step at a time, finding joy in the work before him and peace in knowing that small efforts, repeated faithfully, eventually accomplish great things. Endurance, he believes, isn't measured by the mistakes made along the way. It is measured by the courage to keep going anyway.
