Sans
Sans does not always explain how she knows things. She simply does.
Which can be frustrating for those who prefer maps, lists, plans, and detailed explanations.
Sans has nothing against such things. She simply trusts what her instincts tell her first.
Sans is a member of the Sapphire Council and the Keeper of Instinct. Along with her twin sister Kjenna, she journeyed to Lofoten from the treetops of Trøndelag after dreaming of the Sapphire Light.
The moment she awoke, Sans knew they had to go. She could not explain why. She did not need to. It was instinct.
According to Sans, instinct is often mistaken for guessing. It is not.
Instinct is what remains after countless lessons have quietly settled into place. It is the small voice that notices what others miss. The feeling that something is right—or wrong—before the mind has fully caught up.
Like the sea, instinct is difficult to hold in your hands. Yet sailors trust it every day.
Among the Sapphire Council, Sans teaches Finn to trust the knowledge that lives beneath his doubts. Finn often believes he must think his way through every problem. When uncertainty arrives, he searches for more answers, more proof, and more reassurance.
Sometimes that helps. Sometimes it only deepens the fog. Sans sees the struggle immediately. A traveler lost in fog cannot always see the shore. But that does not mean he has forgotten where it is.
Again and again, Sans reminds Finn that he already knows more than he believes. His hands remember the ropes. His eyes recognize the harbor. His heart knows the direction even when fear insists otherwise.
The fog may hide the path. It cannot erase it.
When the Sapphire Light grows clouded by uncertainty, Sans reminds others that instinct is not magic. It is wisdom gathered quietly over time. The lessons learned. The mistakes survived. The knowledge carried forward even when confidence fades.
Sometimes the surest guide is the voice already inside you.
If someone finds their way through doubt without knowing exactly how...
If a traveler trusts the compass hidden within...
If the fog finally parts and reveals a direction that was there all along...
That will be Sans.
