Søvna
Søvna is never far from sweetness.
You will often notice her by the soft hum she carries under her breath—the quiet rise and fall of a lullaby that seems to warm the air itself. A faint dusting of powdered sugar rests on her cheeks and clothing, as though she has just stepped away from a fresh skolebrød. No one has ever seen her finish one without smiling.
She is round with comfort and gentle delight. Her hands often clasp together at her chest as if imagining the next small joy about to arrive. Søvna believes that sweetness is not something to be rushed or hidden—it is meant to be savored. Some say her voice is the sweetest sound in all of Bergen, perhaps from all the sugar she enjoys. But those who listen closely know it is kindness that gives her song its glow.
Søvna is a member of the Emerald Council and the Keeper of Lullabies. It is her chant that the Emerald Light carries to Aksel. When the fjord grows quiet and the world softens at the edges, her voice drifts through the stillness, gently weaving destiny into dream. She understands that music begins not with sound, but with listening.
To learn from Søvna is to learn that softness is strength. That sweetness is not foolishness. That the quietest voices often carry the furthest. Aksel comes to understand through Søvna that courage can arrive gently, that calling can come as a whisper, and that sometimes the path forward begins with closing one’s eyes and trusting the song.
If the air feels warmer without reason…
If a melody seems to find you in the quiet…
If your heart steadies beneath a gentle hum…
That will be Søvna.
